Description

This project at the Kate Waller Barrett Branch library involved the construction of an environmentally controlled secure area within the working library. This dedicated space was designed to store and protect rare documents and books for the City of Alexandria, ensuring their long-term preservation. In addition, workstations were installed throughout the facility, offering public access with internet connectivity.

To minimize disruption to library operations, all construction work was performed during off-hours. The project also emphasized the implementation of robust security measures and access controls to safeguard the climate-controlled Rare Books and City Documents section.
